1920’s Flappers Lunch in Cannes
Happy New Year!!
Banyan Tree Seychelles -One of my top ten travel moments in 2015
I can’t believe the holiday season is over already, so sad. I am back in Dublin after a lovely two week break in London, Nairobi, and Mumbai which I will tell you all about soon 🙂
Before I do that, I have one last Cannes post to share about this really fun lunch I attended during the ITLM event. You can read my full post on ILTM here, and my post on Nice here!
The lovely crew at JW Marriott and the Marriott Autograph Collection hosted a 1920’s flappers lunch at the beautiful JW Marriott in Cannes which directly overlooks the Cote D’Azur.
Guests were picked up in style from the Palais des Congres by this adorable little train!
Of course there were flapper girls leading the way.
Once we had arrived we were given a (rather strong) welcome cocktail served in a tea cup!
I chatted happily to some of the other attendees on the terrace before being called in for lunch.
Beautiful Wintery Cannes
The Chef was Stefan Winter of the Cotton House Hotel in Barcelona. So dedicated was Mr. Winter that he actually drove all the way from Barcelona with the ingredients in his car!
Starters were a selection of prawns, porcini mushrooms, sardines, roasted duck canneloni, and anchovies.
All beautifully presented…
In between the courses we were entertained by flapper girls dancing to some 1920’s hits. I just love 1920’s as a theme, I can’t get enough of the beads, pearls, and feathers.
A selfie competition was added into the mix and amazingly I won!
The prize was incredibly generous; two nights stay at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London, two nights stay at the Park Lane Marriott Hotel in London, and two nights stay at Powerscourt Hotel in Wicklow.

Next came the main course; roast lamb served with sweet potato, rosemary, and goats cheese. It was delicious! Easily my favourite course.
Swiftly after the main course, dessert was served. Fittingly for a lunch party, it was a light Catalan Cream.
Sadly as time was ticking and there were afternoon meetings to be had there wasn’t too much time for lingering, so goody bag in hand we all boarded the train again back to the Congres.
Lovely Goody Bag 😀
On a side note, if you are looking for some travel inspiration I spotted online this new JW Marriott in Bodrum and it looks fabulous… then again I am a sucker for an infinity pool!
I haven’t been yet but let me know if any of you have checked it out!
