A night at the Bolshoi Theatre

On our second night in Moscow we went to see Swan Lake at the Bolshoi.

Bolshoi Theatre Moscow

So incredibly lucky, I know.

The Bolshoi is famous world wide and tickets are notoriously expensive and difficult to get.

Our seats were sky high but we did get our own box

If you want tickets you have a couple of options. The least expensive and most, let’s say, ‘official’ way to get them is to book them from the official website .

The problem with that is it is near impossible! The tickets sell out so fast so you need to be ready to buy them the day they go on sale which is usually 2-3months in advance of the show.

Another option is to by it on a ticket re-sale site such as Boxoffice.Bolshoi or balletandopera. These sites do have a mark-up but they often still sell tickets when the official site is sold out.

Whichever way you get tickets it is definitely worth it! The music was beautiful and the dancing was fantastic!

The dress I’m wearing is a silk dress from Anabelle Thom a Kenyan designer. She doesn’t sell her dresses online but she has some gorgeous handbags which you can buy on her website.

O2 Lounge Moscow

After the Bolshoi we wandered a few minutes down the road to the O2 Lounge perched on top of the Ritz Carlton and overlooking the Red Square… need I say more?

If you are into Russian celeb spotting this is the place to be.

Though perhaps don’t look at your credit card receipt until the next morning.. ouch!

Moscow Mule

So that’s a wrap on my Moscow trip, I can’t wait to return soon! If you want to read more on my trip all the details are here, here, and here.
