Classical Music, Canons, and Raw Fish

Weekends in London are so delightful.

Royal Albert Hall

I can think of few things I enjoy more than going for a stroll by the gorgeous houses in Belgravia and Mayfair followed by a spot of window shopping in either Harrods or Selfridges.

After a wonderful meal at Mari Vanna in Knightsbridge the night before, I went easy at breakfast at the Caledonian Club and instead admired how impressive the dining room was.

Read at Mari Vanna here

What was more impressive than the dining room was the staircase… I do love a good staircase, very important for making one feel regal and grand.

Once Dad had eaten his fill of the Scottish Breakfast, Mum and I took advantage of his happily fed state and convinced him to hit the shops in Knightsbridge.

We didn’t have too much time but I managed to find a rather nice cape / coat, which was of course totally impractical if it were to rain or snow but I liked it!

In the afternoon Mum who had rather suspiciously claimed to have a sore ear carried on shopping and Dad and I went to the Royal Albert Hall to watch Classical Spectacular.

Our seats were excellent and despite my love of hood music were you can barely make out the lyrics apart from the odd swear word, I did really enjoy the show!

The music was splendid and the whoever did the lights seriously needs a raise!

Even if you are not into classical music I would really recommend the show to everyone, it was such a fun experience with flag waving aplenty.

After the last canon went off in the 1812 Overture we raced back to the club and I did a quick change of clothes and headed out to meet my friends.

During the week there had been endless debate on where to go, getting 8 people to decide on something is near impossible but in the end SO was picked with the recommendation that it served good raw fish!

Thus unraveled a bizarre night of sushi followed by a birthday party in a coffee shop followed by a high end club in South Kensington.

I realise the quality of these photos leaves a lot to be desired.. I’m going to blame the lighting in Boujis

It was such a fun night and so great to catch up with all my friends from school!

Apologies it is been a while since my last post… I have been running around the Cote d’Azur the last few days and I am so excited to share all my stories from my trip soon!
