Breakfast Room at the Savoy Hotel Moscow

In my Travel Guide to Moscow I mentioned that I stayed at the lovely Savoy Hotel and I thought I would expand a bit on it here.
The Savoy Hotel is located on Rozhedestvenka close to the KGB headquarters and no I didn’t see Putin, despite endless googling I wasn’t able to track down his favourite hang-outs or even where he lives.. that man is mysterious.
The location was absolutely fantastic, the shopping street across the road had all the essentials like Louis Vuitton and Tom Ford (ha! I wish) and Red Square and the Bolshoi were just a 5 minute walk away.

When you walk into the Savoy you get an inkling that you are in somewhere nice as you see a lobby gleaming in white marble under the shine of a golden chandelier.
The hotel bar is equally impressive with its polished wooden fireplaces and life size statues.
I checked into a Classical Room, sadly unlike in my parent’s room there was no wine and fruit awaiting my arrival… I see how it is… though my parents did share so it was all good. The room held true to the old school Russian décor that features throughout the hotel with an ornate light piece above the bed and a wooden bed board.

The bathroom was definitely my favourite aspect of the room.
It was just beautiful, I loved the tiling and the colour scheme, it made it seem so luxurious.
Before breakfast in the morning I even managed to hit the gym.

I know, I am a whole new woman.. fitness freak and gym bunny… not really, I think I was just weirdly jet lagged and bored. The gym was nice though, and empty, as was the swimming pool.
Once we had breakfast in that amazing room I threw on my new sundress and floppy sunhat and headed out for a day of adventures!
