Work in Progress – Copenhagen
On our first night in Copenhagen my friend Michael took me out for a belated birthday dinner, and yes I realise my birthday has now spread out over several weeks and locations… next year just wont live up!
We researched online and found out about ‘Work in Progress’ a funky restaurant with an interesting concept.
Inside Work in Progress Copenhagen
They don’t have a menu, instead they serve you four courses and four glasses of wine each of which are pre-selected. There aren’t any options on the menu but they do ask if you have any allergies or preferences before starting.
Wandering around Copenhagen
Before the four courses came an amuse bouche of pork croquette, ham, and anchovy.
For our starter we had some artistically presented Ceviche.
Course number two was my favourite of the four, we had teriyaki mushrooms… I am normally not the biggest fan of mushrooms but these were truly delicious!
The main course was certainly the most interesting. Our beef was served with a rather large amount of ink sauce..
ALL THAT INK
For some reason I didn’t realise it was octopus ink until much later otherwise I probably would not have eaten it, but it was nice and very unusual.
Dessert was not exactly to my taste though it did seem a very healthy mix of rhubarb.
What I loved about the restaurant was firstly the concept, there was zero effort involved in picking what you wanted to eat, and I also liked that at the end of the meal you got to vote on which dish was your favourite.
Also the glasses of wine were generous, I thought they would be more tasting size but not at all.
Our waiter was also a very unorthodox but hilarious sommelier, when he described the wines he would say things such as “this is the type of wine I would like to drink on a warm summer day in the park”.

All in all a great night, would totally recommend this place if you are in Copenhagen!
